Antrim Forum, opened in 1972 was the first and largest multi-use activity centre in Northern Ireland and remains so to this day. The Forum offers an extensive range of facilities and activities including; a swimming pool, a dance studio and an international track and field stadium.
Antrim Borough Council wished to understand if local people felt that the Forum continued to meet their needs. The Council also saw this wave of research as an opportunity to gather constituent’s opinions on a wide range of matters that directly affected the borough.
CARD Group developed a question set in conjunction with Antrim Borough Council to facilitate quantitative face-to-face interviewing. The study was not only conducted at Antrim Forum but also in surrounding towns and villages within the district. This allowed CARD Group to gather opinions across the borough from users and non-users of the Forum.
The data was then analysed against a unique consumer profiling of the borough’s constituents. This degree of detail had not been available to Antrim Borough Council before CARD Group’s research and proved invaluable when placing the data captured in the context of the district.
The output provided some unique insights on local users to assist Antrim Borough Council to ensure ongoing plans for the Forum to continue to meet local needs effectively.
